Fear Not T Shirt Definitely Phil is part of the reason — Furthur played a Fear Not T Shirt of Phil songs (and songs that Phil loved to play, like Mountains of the Moon — which he has done a lot with Phil & Friends, too). They also played a lot of covers that the Dead didn’t routinely do. They branched out more, and played around a lot more with set lists. Dead & Co was definitely a mass appeal (and I count myself among the masses it appealed to). Also very highly produced, as a total show. Which was really fun. Just less spontaneous and creative, in some ways. ()
