She has a massive bin cage with deep bedding etc etc yet still likes to climb around like a little spider so I’m not worried about it because I know she is happy 🙂 Syrians are generally fussy little things so as long as he’s not exhibiting other stress behaviour (like washing loads, hiding, not eating, not drinking, digging the corners of the cage), then I wouldn’t worry and just try to play with him as much as possible or add more bedding so he can dig more burrows 🙂 Edit: adding more bedding below will defo pad out the space in case he falls!
